|  | The Bukas Palad Online Community Choir had its first service for 2008 at EDSA Shrine last night. The week before, i wasn't able to attend the practice due to pressing commitments. Good thing, though, that i knew (or so i thought) all of the songs of Bukas Palad.
During the mass, we were told by the sacristan that since it was still Christmas season under the Church's calendar, we should sing Christmas songs during Offertory and Communion -- something that no member anticipated. Anyway, we were able to scrape through without having egg on our faces. Fr. Nilo even commended the group for a nicely-sung Lord's Prayer (Hangad version -- akala ko ba Bukas Palad, tapos ito ang kinanta?!), although he asked to remove the Amen portion at the end.
I also was forced to sing the bass of Lamb of God (Tinapay ng Buhay version) for the first time. Save for slight timing issues, i got away from that, too.
