Feetchur-taker para may Remember

Photo AlbumTRAVELOGUE 2008: Vigan at NightMar 16, '08 9:58 AM
for everyone
I'm sure most of you who have been to Vigan would remember the cobbled streets and the antique shops.

But do you know what it looks like AT NIGHT? Check these photos out. I am still in Pagudpud at time of posting, so absolutely no post-processing here.

Paging rosscapili. Your influence on me is sooo strong here.

Taken at 5:00AM on 15th March 2008. Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 on a D300.

Your comments (good and bad) are most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Philip! According to the EXIF data, shutter was at 1/30s, aperture at f/2.8, ISO at 900. Nope, no flash assistance in all pics, just ambient lighting. Yeah, iba nga talaga yung effect because of the street lighting. :)

oh i see... so pag D40x po kaya, may ISO 900 yun? All I know is 800 the step to 1600 na... is it ok kahit nasa 800 ang ISO? Will I still got the same dramatic effect? Hmmm... I think kung meron na kong camera, I'll try to experiment. ehehehehe... Tnx po Atty. Raymond!!! ;')

Thanks guys. Sometimes, being awake early has its rewards. In this case, i had no choice kasi dumating kami ng Vigan nang 5am. eh ano pa nga bang gagawin mo pag may bitbit ka na camera? hehehe :P

Ummm... All Nikon cameras have an 'ISO auto' function. This means that even if you set your cam to a particular ISO sensitivity, it will automatically boost up ISO to give you what the camera's AI thinks is the shot you want (assuming you are at P, A, or S settings). A D40x will adjust to ISO 900, and will go up to ISO 1600. My main camera goes up to ISO 3200.

Thanks bro. Auto WB lang, aperture priority at f/2.8. The D300 is such a good camera, i seldom change WB settings unless i'm shooting landscapes. Yup, i don't go to 'cloudy' anymore in wedding scenarios. :)

Eh kami nga nagbakasyon sa lola namin in Ilocos Norte but the same architectures ng house nila... ilang oras bago kami nakatulog... tapos yung paligid ng haus, napapaligiran ng old pics ng mga namatay ng kamag-anakan at puro lumang baul at banga ang paligid... parang lahat ng mga nasa old pics nakatingin sa amin... hehehehe... yung ang KAMOTENG pakiramdam!!! Ehehehehehe!!!

Edwin "Ang Alamat" Loyola! Salamat sa comment. Pero... di ko alam ano ritratong tinutukoy ninyo, hehe.

All of the shots were hand-held. The mumu's at home use the tripod as bedwarmer.

I kinda felt that there were spirits around, too. I was hoping some would get caught on-cam, pero mukhang camera-shy sila that morning. :P

Again, salamat sa comment, it means a lot to me. If you feel that any of my shots could have been improved any way, please let me know. Tapos hintayin nyo na lang ang demand letter ko, hahahahahaha

Btw people, Edwin "Ang Alamat" Loyola has a photo exhibit at Philamlife Building along UN Avenue beginning 28th March 2008 together with other Pinoy photo icons like PARC Cruz and Borj "Boy Laglag" Meneses. Check out his multiply albums. Better yet, check out the photo exhibit. :)
